It is never too late to straighten your teeth. At Winston-Salem, we offer clear aligner treatment for adult patients who want to correct their smile. Clear aligners are an excellent alternative to metal braces because they mix the benefits of orthodontic treatment while still keeping the patient’s style and appearance intact. The braces, as their name says, are practically invisible – most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them. Plus, they’re comfortable and easy to wear; no need to fiddle with wiring and metal for the duration of your treatment. If you are interested in receiving clear braces, schedule an appointment with our office today.
What Are the Benefits of Clear Braces?
Maintain Appearance
Because clear aligners are practically invisible, most people will not even notice someone is wearing them. This means the patient doesn’t have to compromise their style and appearance to straighten their teeth.
01
No Wiring or Metal
Traditional braces consist of wiring and metal brackets that are bulky, uncomfortable, and easily get food stuck in them. Clear braces are free from all of that making them enjoyable and not embarrassing for the patient to wear.
02
Correct Teeth
Clear aligners are just like traditional braces without all of the negative aspects. They help correct and straighten teeth over time without the obtrusive metal brackets of traditional braces.

How Do Clear Braces Work?
To begin the process for clear braces, the first step is to schedule an appointment with our team at Winston-Salem Dental Specialists. During your appointment, our team will assess if clear aligners are the right choice for you. If the doctor determines that you are a good candidate, the next step will be to take an impression of your mouth which will be used to create your clear aligners.
Once your clear aligners have been created and are ready for you, our team will bring you in to ensure the clear braces fit properly and are comfortable. After that, you will come in for regular checkups so our team can make sure the treatment is progressing as planned and make adjustments if needed. Patients can have anywhere from 18-30 different clear braces as they change them out every two weeks as progress is made. For clear braces, the average treatment time ranges from nine to 15 months, but this is dependent on each patient’s unique needs. Your dentist will be able to give you a more accurate timeline during your initial assessment.
When the doctor feels you have reached the desired final results, you will be able to discontinue wearing the braces. Your doctor will likely provide you with retainers to wear in order to maintain the progress your teeth have made.
