Dental Implants
Dental implants are designed to replace the root of a missing tooth. Our doctors use state-of-the-art 3-D technology and surgical guides to plan and place dental implants. Teeth implant surgeries help relieve the negative effects of tooth loss, such as poor diet, speech, misalignment, facial appearances, and more.
Gum Disease Treatment
The first line of treatment for mild to moderate gum disease is nonsurgical periodontal treatment. This less invasive option is used to treat and remove bacterial plaque and calculus (tartar) buildup below the gumline, therefore reducing infection and promoting healing. If needed, surgical periodontal gum disease treatment, such as gingival gum grafting, can be performed to treat advanced gum disease or periodontitis.
Root Canals
Root canals are a dental procedure for patients who are diagnosed with an infected tooth. The treatment is done to eliminate bacteria, prevent reinfection, and restore the original tooth. By completing a root canal, patients are relieved from pain, can efficiently chew again, and preserve their smile’s natural appearance.
Sedation Dentistry
Anxiety and fear are common feelings patients may have surrounding dental procedures and care. We understand and sympathize with these feelings and want to help you feel the most comfortable and relaxed during your treatments. To help with this, we provide state-of-the-art sedation dentistry techniques, from oral sedation to intravenous (IV) conscious sedation and general anesthesia.
Implant Dentures
Implant dentures are used to help prevent bone loss in the jaw and restore the functionality and appearance of teeth. Because implant dentures simply snap into place, there is no slippage or messy gels or adhesives to work with like there is with traditional dentures. Implant dentures’ ability to function and appear like normal teeth makes them an excellent choice for patients with tooth loss.
Our Doctors
Dr. Nicole Wright is known for her professionalism and expertise in treating each patient with individual care and modern dental procedures leading to long-lasting solutions for patients. Dr. Wright is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery, which is a distinction held by a small pool of periodontal professionals. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Wright spends her time as a mentor and guest speaker to dental residency students, and volunteers services at the Veterans Administration dental clinic as part of the Missions of Mercy (MOM) project.
Dr. Emilie Ammoura seeks to treat all her patients in an honest, respectful, and professional manner while providing exceptional surgical results. She is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Southern Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Ammoura specializes in dental implants, bone and sinus augmentations, soft tissue gum grafting, traditional and laser periodontal surgery, periodontal regeneration, and IV sedation.
Dr. Kenneth A. Peavy, DMD, MHS, was born, raised, and still resides in Mount Airy, North Carolina. He is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners and became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology, a distinction held by top periodontists. Dr. Peavy, along with the entire Winston-Salem Periodontics team, is dedicated to continuing education in periodontics, dental implants, and sedation, in order to pursue top innovation in dental care education and technology.
Dr. Sarah Baker grew up in Vermilion, Ohio, a small town in northern Ohio on Lake Erie. She received a BS in biology from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. After her undergraduate studies, she attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry graduating with a DDS degree. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Baker continued her studies with specialty training in Prosthodontics at The Dental College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, serving as chief resident in her third year. While completing her prosthodontics training, she completed an MS in Oral Biology studying dental implant survival in medically complex patients.
Prosthodontics is a dental specialty focusing on the restoration of complex dental conditions including the replacement of missing teeth, tooth structure, and supportive facial structures.
Her three-year intensive specialty training program included training in evidence-based esthetic, functional, and complex care solutions including, but not limited to:
-Veneers
-Crowns
-Full-mouth/full-arch rehabilitations
-Dentures and overdentures
-Fixed completes (teeth in a day/All-on-X)
-Simple and complex implant restorations

Dr. Baker understands the importance of interdisciplinary care to provide these solutions for her patients and enjoys working, learning, and being creative with other providers to plan long-lasting treatment. She enjoys teaching and speaking and was recently chosen as a top 5 finalist speaker for a worldwide emerging leaders competition for the prestigious Academy of Osseointegration.
While not in the office, Dr. Baker enjoys spending time with her husband, Alex. She likes leather working, crafts, and other DIY projects, being in nature, and traveling.

Dr. Joyce Munn was raised in the Boston area of New England, where her passion for science and healthcare first took root. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Adelphi University in three years. She then pursued a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences at Boston University, further deepening her understanding of the biological foundations of medicine and dentistry.
Driven by a love for adventure and a desire to broaden her perspective, Dr. Munn chose to complete her dental education internationally at Universidad Europea de Madrid in Spain. It was there that she discovered her passion in endodontics, nurtured by the mentorship of passionate faculty and hands-on clinical training.
Her pursuit of excellence led her back to Boston, where she completed a rigorous endodontic residency program at Boston University. With advanced training in root canal therapy, microsurgical techniques, and pain management, Dr. Munn developed a deep commitment to precision, patient-centered care, and lifelong learning.
Following her residency, Dr. Munn accepted a faculty position at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in Michigan, where she taught endodontics to predoctoral students. Her contributions were recognized in 2019 when she received the Faculty Appreciation Award from the Student Government Association.
Dr. Munn is passionate about delivering the highest quality of care to her patients. She believes in a gentle, empathetic approach and strives to make every dental experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Her focus is always on comprehensive care tailored to each individual’s needs.
She is an active member of several professional organizations, including: The American Association of Endodontists (AAE), American Dental Association (ADA), The North Carolina Dental Society.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Munn enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, and discovering unique local restaurants.
