Research that shapes patient care
Dr. Choi’s interest in science began at Duke, where he conducted biomedical research on graft-versus-host disease. That work earned national recognition with an Abstract Achievement Award from the American Society of Hematology.
During his endodontic residency at Columbia, his research explored the use of guided tissue regeneration in endodontic surgery. This work contributes to advances in surgical technique that help patients heal well and keep their natural teeth. Today, that same research-minded precision guides how he diagnoses and treats every case.
A commitment to service
After graduating from Duke, Dr. Choi served as a college advisor at a Durham, NC high school through a partnership between AmeriCorps and the Duke University College Advising Corps. He helped guide underrepresented students through the college admissions process, opening doors to higher education. That same care for people and their goals carries into his practice today.
